Plant Based Sausage Review
My Review of "Beyond" Plant-Based Breakfast Sausage Patties
My review of plant burgers is about the brand "Beyond." The average American and the average citizen of many other countries can now skip eating the meat that comes from dead animals and now have all plant-based choices. I have eaten one Beyond Breakfast Plant-Based Sausage Pattie. One pattie has 90 calories when cooked. I picked the "spicy" type of plant-based sausage and I really loved the flavor and it tastes almost like real meat sausage. It takes only 4-5 minutes to cook in a skillet at 165 degrees. F. In the oven, it takes 8 minutes and flips after 4 minutes at 350 degrees F. I cooked mine in the air fry oven at 350 deg. for 4 minutes maybe a little longer.
I love to list the ingredients because the list of ingredients on the package is often hard to read. The list of ingredients is water, pea protein, expeller-pressed canola oil, refined coconut oil, natural flavors (celery), dried yeast, rice protein, 2% or less of methylcellulose, apple extract, salt, spices, pomegranate concentrate, smoked paprika, lemon juice (concentrate), vinegar, smoke flavor, vegetable juice color (with beet). The patties are also Non GMO and this is a great plus. Plus the patties have 25% less sodium than leading brands of meat sausages. Also, the patties have 12g of total fat per serving.
To me, the list of ingredients sounds good and it is better than eating meat from dead animals because animals these days contain a lot of chemicals in their bodies s.a. hormones or medications given to them, etc.
One pattie is 28 grams and the percentage of 11g of this pattie has 17% of protein so 28 grams would be double the protein of approximately close to 30% of protein.
Bonus Suggestion to Get More Protein
This is how I do it: I eat 2 eggs made into an omelet on 2 pieces of sourdough bread and right there I am already getting plenty of protein. Also, there are so many vegetables that have much more protein than meat and I will post about that later.
A package of 6 patties costs $4.42 at Walmart. I have put the link below so you can check it out some more on their website. This is not cheap but it is affordable since meat is also very expensive. Plus, eating plant-based protein patties is good for the environment because the raising of animals for meat produces many nitrates and other chemicals into the environment which is harmful to the environment. In addition, many times the animals are treated inhumanely before being slaughtered.
As you can see, you won't need to eat meat anymore in 2024 since now there are non-meat protein choices made from plants on the market. Wishing you a healthy 2024. Plus there are so many other choices of plant-based protein s.a. burgers, chicken nuggets, etc.
